David Lee Rollag, 78 of Luverne, died under hospice care Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Society — Mary Jane Brown in Luverne.
A graveside service was Wednesday, July 7, at the Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne.
David was born May 8, 1943, to Orville and Rose (Sanderson) Rollag in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids.
Rollag attended the Rock Rapids school system. Following his education, he left the area and worked as a carpenter in various locations including California. He married and the couple had three children, David, Derrick and Jennifer.
While in California, he was involved as a boy scout leader.
He eventually returned to the Midwest, settling in Luverne in 2002. He enjoyed doing small carpentry projects for friends.
David is survived by two children, David and Jennifer; four siblings, Dwayne (Helen) Rollag, Sioux Falls, Darlene VandeKop, Des Moines, Iowa, Sharon Snuttjer, Clive, Iowa, and Rhea (John) McBride, St. Paul.
He is preceded in death by his son, Derrick; his parents; siblings and their spouses, Donovan (Catherine) Rollag and Doris (Diedrik) Nelson; and two brothers-in-law Gene VandeKop and Jerome Snuttjer.
