Carol Ann Rohlck, daughter of Orland and Irene (Mann) Rohlck, was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Luverne, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm North of Hardwick, Minnesota. She was educated in Hardwick until high school where she graduated from Luverne High School in 1958.

Carol was united in marriage with her high school sweetheart, William “Bill” Braa on Sept. 20, 1959 in Hardwick, Minnesota. She began working in the office at an agriculture manufacturing company. They moved to Sioux Falls for a couple of years and were blessed with two children, Debra and Jeffrey.

The family moved to Lennox in 1963, where Carol began working at the old elementary building in the Lennox School District as a teacher’s aide, lunch lady and librarian for many years. In 1990 they moved to Sioux Falls where they built the home they have lived in since. She semi-retired, though she sold Tupperware for several years and had continued to work elections which she has done for 40 years. She enjoyed the people and attention to detail.

Carol was an excellent cook and baker. She had a bit of a sweet tooth. She enjoyed going out to the store and would always enjoy visiting with people. They loved to travel and in their earlier years they camped in the Black Hills with their family. Later years they enjoyed their timeshare in the Black Hills, California, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and several cruises, most recently their weekend road trips to Ameristar Casino in Omaha, Nebraska.

Carol adored her family. She loved watching her children grow up and the special love of having grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of 64 years, Bill; a daughter, Deb Carter, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a son, Jeff (Rhonda) Braa, Champlin, Minnesota; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Ashley (Cory) Metzger and their daughter, Chloe, Hills, Minnesota; Jerick Braa, Ramsey, Minnesota; Robert (Carolyn) Braa and their children, Daniel and Kendrick, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; and a few nieces and nephews; and their grand dogs, Leo, Chico, Watson, Luna and Boomer.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roger Rohlck; and a sister, Ruth Nielsen.
