Talents on display during 4-H Communication event

Lead Summary
,

Eleven Rock County 4-H’ers in grades kindergarten through high school shared their communication talents Feb. 28 at the annual 4-H Communication Arts Contest in Luverne.
Members participated in photojournalism, creative writing, interpretive reading and photojournalism.
Contest goals included developing effective skills in both written and oral communications, developing poise and self- confidence, practicing the process of inquiry and research, and encouraging creativity and self-expression through the use of visual and written media.
“It’s encouraging to see these youth step out of their comfort zones and show off their skills,” said Kelsey Maeschen, 4-H program coordinator. “It take a lot to speak in front of a group but these kids really did a great job. I am very proud of them.”
Margie Anderson, Murray County 4-H program coordinator, judged the event.
