The Hardwick American Legion Arthur Moeller Post 478 received a Director’s Award this summer for sponsoring Knute Oldre for the Boys State Convention in St. Paul in June. Oldre was second runner-up for the Boys State Governor and Lieutenant Governor’s trip to nationals. Out of more than 300 Boys State participants, two advance to nationals, which were last week in Washington, D.C. As second alternate, Oldre was essentially fourth in line for the honor. He is pictured with Hardwick’s Second District Commander Mark Coney at the Rock County Veterans Memorial Building Monday afternoon.
