Sale pending on former Family Dollar property

After five years of sitting empty, the former Family Dollar building on South Estey Street may be getting a new owner.
Bill Weber with Jensen Management Services, Luverne, confirmed the sale of the 11,500-square-foot facility is pending but was unable to provide specifics on transaction.
Family Dollar closed its doors in March 2010 and has been empty ever since.
Last year Cory Grimm with the American Reformed Church, Luverne, proposed creating a community outreach center in the building as a central location for various programming. He said Monday that his group is not behind the current sale.
Family Dollar opened in July 2005 in what used to house Luverne True Value and before that Jubilee Foods.
