Ron Fick combines soybeans Thursday afternoon, Oct. 6, east of Hardwick. Harvest in the state is closing in on the five-year completion average, just one day behind, according to the Oct. 3 state crop report. Corn harvest is two days behind the five-year average. In his weekly Focus on Ag column, Thiesse parses out some of these pricing decisions in light of the current market conditions.
