Prairie Rose community fund grants awarded for 2020

Prairie Rose Minnesota Community Fund grants and scholarships of more than $39,000 were awarded from 2020 disbursements.
The community board of directors met recently to conduct the annual disbursement of student scholarships and organization grants.
Eight scholarships totaling $6,250 were awarded to high school seniors and current college students.
Recipients include Carson Ehde, Mallory Thorson, Jenna Schelhaas, Lexi Kindt, Emilee Johnson, Aric Meinerts, Reka Meinerts and Emily Bartels.
The Hardwick and Jasper communities split $33,471 in grants.
The city of Hardwick received grants for:
•foundation repairs to the community hall and installation of an energy-efficient electric furnace.
•The Community Club’s 2020 Santa Day.
•a new propane gas furnace for the fire hall.
The Hardwick Legion Auxiliary received funding to improve the landscaping around the community hall.
The Jasper Ambulance Service will purchase new pagers, and the Jasper Fire Department will add three sets of new turnout gear.
Rose Dell Township will use a grant to reset headstones at the Rosedahl Cemetery in Section 26E.
The application period is open for 2021 allocations.
To be eligible, recipients must reside within the township footprint of the Prairie Rose Wind Farm in northwest Rock County.
Townships include Rose Dell, Denver and Springwater, and the communities of Hardwick and the Rock County portion of Jasper.
