The AgStar Fund for Rural America recently awarded $3,000 to Magnolia Fire and Rescue to purchase safety vests and EMS gear bags.
“There is a great need for emergency response support, especially in rural communities. Budget restraints make it difficult for departments to purchase and update critical equipment,” said John Monson, chairman of the fund’s board of trustees.
“This program allows us to support volunteer departments by making sure they have the equipment and the gear they need to effectively serve and protect their communities.”
Magnolia is one of 54 volunteer fire, rescue and ambulance squads who received Emergency Response Equipment grants this year. The grants totaled $151,820.
AgStar Financial Services, ACA, is headquartered in Mankato and is part of the national Farm Credit System. It serves 69 counties in Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.
