Nearly 15,000 free hot dogs were consumed Thursday night as part of Luverne's 53rd Annual Hot Dog Night.
The event included the annual wiener dog beauty contest and wiener dog races, as well as the annual Wienerman Triathlon and all the festive live music, Spotlight Dancers, demonstrations and other special attractions.

WIENERMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The overall winner of eating, running, biking and swimming challenge was Team Schlong Shots A out of Sioux Falls, with a time of 1:07:49.
Nine, four-person teams competed in male, female and co-ed categories.

Hot Dog Night evening activities in Luverne were cut short by an ominous storm cloud that rolled over the city around 9:30 p.m., but after a harmless shower, the fun resumed on East Main Street with live music and cold drinks.
