Prayer Warriors and Team Ethan community members gathered at Ethan Erickson’s favorite spot, the Rez in Hills, for a community prayer event Wednesday, July 31.
Ethan’s mother, Heather, and his sister Mia were in attendance with Ethan who participated via FaceTime.
“Ethan misses fishing and wants to catch a big bass,” Heather said.
The community prayer service was led by Pastor Maggie Berndt-Dreyer of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, where Ethan and his family attend.
Erickson was diagnosed April 30, 2018, with Burkitt’s lymphoma, an aggressive cancer that doctors are treating with a new blend of chemotherapy typically used on adults.
“They are hopeful and we pray for a remission that can sustain him until the bone marrow transplant,” Heather recently shared online.
“We continue to take it day by day one step and minute at a time. His spirits are high and he is handling the new drugs very well, so that is a blessing. I ask for prayers for all of us, as this is a scary and emotional time. We pray for a miracle and know that with hope and faith all things are possible.”
