There will be no shortage of things to do in the coming days with several events and activities slated in Luverne and Rock County.
The Take 16 Block Party will be Thursday night, Sept. 8, with live music, local food, free games and beer in the Take 16 Brewery parking lot on East Main Street in Luverne.
The annual Cardinal Gold’n Bowl will be Friday night, Sept. 9, at Cardinal Field during the first home football game in Luverne.
The Luverne Area Chamber, Gold’n Plump and Glen’s Food Center will serve grilled chicken sandwiches and chips starting at 5:30 p.m. LHS Cardinal Country clothing and gear will also be for sale and the Luverne High School Marching Band will perform a preview of their 2016 show, “Phantom of the Opera.”
On Saturday morning the Luverne airport will host a fly-in and drive-in breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon. The event features a pancake breakfast, classic cars and plans and free inflatables. Skydive Adventures will be jumping if weather conditions permit.
Sept. 11 will mark the 15th anniversary of the terror attacks on the United States.
Remember Rally volunteers will dedicate a time capsule at the Rock County Library at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The Blue Light Ceremony originally planned for the event has been cancelled.
