Luverne's Brad Bergman has been hired as the general manager of Skattum Confinement and Superior Buildings.
Bergman studied business management at Southeast Technical Institute, Sioux Falls, and has more than 10 years of experience as a contractor with his business, Contracting Consultants Inc.
Bergman said it's a new position at the Magnolia company, which was recently purchased by Son-D-Farms, Adrian, and he said he looks forward to guiding the company in his position.
"Nobody can replace Nate (Skattum, who died in January of cancer), and Tom (Skattum) is retiring," Bergman said. "Reed (Nate's son) will play an important role as he grows into the company."
Bergman said his position was created in the wake of Son-D-Farms purchasing Skattum Confinement and Superior Buildings earlier this year.
The two businesses will continue to operate as they have, with Bergman managing the overall business operations.
"It's a great opportunity to get back and work where I grew up and work with the ag community," Bergman said.
Bergman is a 1998 Luverne High School graduate and the son of Marilyn and the late Leon Bergman, Kenneth.
He and his wife, Paula, live in Brandon.
