Luverne athletes receive recognition on All-Big South Conference tennis list

Three Luverne Cardinal tennis athletes were recognized with post-season honors.
Juniors Cole Stoltenberg and Matt Sehr were named to the Big South Conference West Division All-Conference tennis team.
Junior Jordan Winter received an Honorable Mention to the same team.
Stoltenberg and Sehr were doubles partners who also earned the opportunity to compete at the state boys’ tennis individual tournament June 6 in Minneapolis.
As a team, Luverne captured its tenth consecutive Section 3A championship and competed at the state team tournament June 4.
In regular-season conference play, Luverne finished third in the BSC West Division behind St. James Area and Worthington.
As conference champs, St. James Area led the league with four players on the All-Conference team.
The Saints’ listed include Lucas Doll, Benji Foss, Sawyer Evans and Josue Solorzano.
Three Worthington players made the all-conference list. Trojans honored were Blaine Doeden, Sullivan Merrigan and Kipton Jenson.
Redwood Valley’s Rikard Wilkens and Pipestone’s Jackson Winter complete the BSC All-Conference West Division team.
