Baustian: Hagedorn not a 'leader for our communities'
To the Editor:
As a 38-year veteran of the United States Air Force and Air National Guard and the father of three children who are currently serving our country in the military, I'm disappointed but not surprised by Congressman Hagedorn's actions.
His vote is a reminder that he's more interested in scoring political points than with fighting for pay raises for our service members.
I've voted for a lot of Republicans in my lifetime, but I cannot support Congressman Hagedorn.
He's belittled the service of Senator John McCain, called a double-amputee a “half soldier,” and he's shown us that he’s more interested in peddling conspiracy theories and misinformation than with being a leader for our communities.
On the contrary, I know that Congressman Hagedorn’s opponent, Dan Feehan, understands the value of selflessly serving others before himself. A veteran of two tours in Iraq, a teacher, and an acting assistant secretary of defense, Dan has committed his life to serving others.
The decision between the two is not a political one; it’s much simpler than that. It is a choice between a man whose first priority is himself and one whose first priority is serving others.

Wallig: Flags too similar?
To the Editor:
Now the politically correct, cancel culture morons think the Norwegian flag is too similar to the Confederate flag.
Tear it down; burn it.
Uffdah.
Swat them on the behind with a birch bough and force them to eat lutefisk.
