To the Editor:
Our governor has proclaimed May as Poppy Month.
What exactly does that mean? It means that many Minnesotans have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom and it is only fitting we recognize those courageous veterans.
The American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the VFW Auxiliary have adopted the poppy as their commemorative symbol. These poppies create a tangible tribute to our heroes, both the fallen and our living veterans and their families.
Let’s wear that poppy proudly in their honor. What a great way to say “Thank you for your service.”
