To the Editor:
We would like to thank the Luverne Chamber of Commerce, the Tri-State Band Festival committee, and the city of Luverne for their hospitality this past weekend. The bands were great, and the weather cooperated until the final four field bands.
Thanks to committee members and the Luverne School District, those bands were able to perform inside the elementary gym.
We enjoyed two great meals with friends at The Bluestem and Sterling’s. Our accommodations at GrandStay were superb.
Another high point of our short stay was attending the 50th class reunion for the class of ’66 — Tom’s first class while teaching in Luverne.
Being able to play 18 holes with Dale Nelson and Keith Erickson on Friday provided a lot of laughs.
All in all, we enjoyed being a small part of the 66th Tri-State Band Festival. It’s always good to be back in Luverne.
