Frakes: We've come a long way in the last 50 years

To the Editor:
I am amazed at how far we’ve come in the last 50 years. Our biggest accomplishment has probably been getting our women out of the house and into the workforce.
There has been another more recent milestone you may have overlooked. Our school-aged children are now mature enough to choose their own gender! Great accomplishment!
Every economist out there will tell you we need more consumption. Our kids are the answer. With all this maturity, we can now lower the drinking and driving age by three or four years. This is bound to increase consumption, so problem solved.
I also think these amazing times will continue. I might be sticking my neck out here, but I’m going to predict that within the next 20 years, our airline cabin attendants will no longer have to show us how to operate a seat belt.
Are we progressive or what?
