Area is fortunate to have generous local organizations

To the Editor:
The Luverne and Rock County community is fortunate to have generous organizations like the Luverne United Methodist Church and ATLAS of Rock County.
The Methodist Church hosts the Rock County Emergency Food Shelf, every week providing free nutrition to local families and individuals who struggle to put food on the table. The same congregation has generously reached out to help local homeless people seeking shelter.
These acts of kindness by the church and by all who support its ministry mean the world to those who are helped.
Similarly, ATLAS of Rock County operates in the same spirit of kindness and generosity through its outreach programs that provide support for families and individuals in crisis situations.
ATLAS — Attaining Truth Love And Self-Control — works with churches and resource organizations to meet the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of people.
More communities should follow the lead of these two groups and the businesses and individuals that support them. We are blessed to have them here.
