Joshua Stroh, age 15, of Luverne, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at his home.
A public visitation to celebrate the blessings through Josh’s life was Friday, December 22, from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Big Top Events in Luverne. A graveside committal service was Saturday, December 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
Memorials are preferred to the Luverne Baseball Association in Josh’s memory.

Joshua Michael Stroh was born on September 11, 2008, to Michael and Tanya (Reverts) Stroh in Luverne, Minnesota. Josh was never much of a sleeper and kept mom and dad awake at all hours … he may have known he needed to get all those extra snuggles in with his mom.
Josh was the younger of two boys. He loved being outside on the farm and chasing his big brother and idol, Jacob, around everywhere. Jacob was the best of brothers, took care of him and loved him well throughout the years.
Josh knew how to stay busy, whether that be hunting in the grove for hours, farm boy fishing in the pond on the farmyard or down at the river, riding side by sides and dirt bikes, playing wiffle ball in the front yard or hanging out with his dog, Jagger.
Family time was a Stroh priority. There was a firm belief in family suppers each night and they loved taking trips together to the Black Hills and Alexandria, Minnesota.
Josh was a momma’s boy. His beloved mom, Tanya, died as the result of a brain aneurysm on February 18, 2019. Mike and the boys continued to reside on the farm. Josh kept up the tradition of baking that he learned from Tanya and would tell his dad and brother that he would continue doing it for the “home team” after she passed away. He enjoyed baking and eating. He liked new foods and could eat like a 300-pound man even though he really weighed in at only 140 pounds. Mike and the boys also started a new tradition of traveling to Makinen, Minnesota, which became one of his favorite places.
Josh was active in sports. He played football, was a natural at wrestling, but his true favorite was baseball. He most enjoyed just being with his team when it came to sports. Josh’s teammates will remember him for his grin, hitting triples, being a good listener, perking in with little side comments and his dry sense of humor, and being a friend who always gave moral support.
Josh loved going fast! Seriously, the kid loved speed. He would have been quite the driver when age 16 came around. Josh liked playing video games and would stay up late, gaming with his buddies. He also liked exploring and trying new things. He got along with everyone, even his brother’s crew of friends were special to him. He was quiet in most settings but constantly mumbling and had thoughts on what was happening around him. He had a strong will and could do anything he set his mind on.
Josh passed away on December 19, 2023, at his home. He was 15 years, 3 months and 8 days old. He will be forever loved and remembered by his dad, Mike (special friend, Tami Vallejo); brother, Jacob; sister, Taylor (Zac) Peters of Dell Rapids, South Dakota; grandparents, Judy Stroh and Deb (Mark) Emery, all of Luverne; and many aunts, uncles, other family, teammates and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Tanya; and his grandpas, David Stroh and Larry Reverts.
Memorials are preferred to the Luverne Baseball Association in Josh’s memory.
