H-BC's Scholten finishes on podium at state track meet

Hills-Beaver Creek junior Zach Scholten represented the Patriots and Section 3A at the Minnesota Class A State Track and Field Championships Friday and Saturday at Hamline University in St. Paul.
Scholten earned the opportunity to compete on the state’s biggest track and field stage when he cleared 6-5 in the high jump at the Section 3A meet June 2.
At the state meet, Scholten’s jump of 6-2 earned an eighth place finish against the state’s best track and field talent.
Redwood Valley senior Cade Johnson, also representing Section 3A, won the state high jump title when he cleared 6-6 at the state meet.
Rushford-Peterson/Houston won the Class A boys’ track and field team title with 57 total team points. Pipestone Area finished fourth as a team with 37 points.
