Congratulations, Premium Minnesota Pork

Subhead
Welcome to Luverne

We hope our readers will check out the Premium Minnesota Pork special edition inserted in this week’s Star Herald.
The facility, with more than 250 jobs and economic investment in the community, is easily one of the best things to happen to Luverne in recent years.
It’s the sort of thing that would normally be celebrated with ribbon-cuttings, community tours and, presumably, a pork barbecue open house of some kind.
But these are not “open house” times we’re living in, and Premium Minnesota Pork has continued its quiet ramp up to full production. … A few hogs at a time, a few employees at a time, until the people and the equipment were in full gear.
Which happened in the past few weeks. They’re happy. Their employees are happy. Their pork customers are happy.
But the Star Herald didn’t want the occasion to go uncelebrated.
We’ve been pleased to be part of public meetings and regular construction update tours. And we’ve learned about the modern technology and equipment that’s custom built for their operation.
And we learned a little about what goes into a good cut of pork.
“Clean, clean, clean!” as one worker put it. And “Safety first.” And “Quality over quantity.”
But best equipment and best practices still rely on the people on the job.
As we know, all successful businesses have their people to thank.
And so, we’d like you to meet the people who make the plant … and ultimately the pork. The special section this week is a celebration of the plant coming on line and of the people that made it happen.
We thank our advertisers for supporting the print version of the party, and we thank the company for letting us be part of their journey.
Congratulations, Premium Minnesota Pork. Welcome to Luverne.
