Bush qualified for the finals of the 800-meter run for the fourth consecutive year on Friday before winning the state title on Saturday.

•(As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration, arrested for not growing facial hair) Offenders against the new shaving law recently passed in Hills were finally rounded up and thrown in jail for their crimes. ... We trust that the guilty parties, namely, Elmer Anderson, E.W. Schneekloth, Dick Moser, John Proost, Art Hoogeveen and Rev. Kruis were to be duly sentenced.

•Barring unfavorable weather, the Golden Jubilee celebration of Hills next Monday and Tuesday, June 24-25, should be a grand success.
•The Trinity Norwegian Lutheran church is the youngest of the three Norwegian churches which were organized in Hills. It has nevertheless been a tower of strength in the community. The church had its inception in 1903 when the Lutheran Free Church group withdrew from the United church.

•The township board of supervisors consisting of J.A. Thorin, Ole Sjolseth and J.O. Jacobson are figuring on buying an Adams Leaning Wheel Grader, and a 25 h. traction engine. F.F. Kiterman, of Steen, is agent for the new outfit and gave a demonstration on road work between the John Beckman and C.J. Nelson farms last Friday afternoon. The grader is equipped with a twelve-foot blade and is the most powerful machine on the market today.
