Beaver Creek Township Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the township hall.
Pink Ladies will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 13, in the Blue Mound Room of Sanford Luverne Hospital.
Blue Mound Quilters will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, July 13, at the Rock County Library basement, Luverne. Note the new date. Contact Verla Fick at 283-8926.
Blue Mound Cemetery Association Picnic will be at 7 p.m. Monday, July 13, at the Blue Mound Church.
Tourist Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Sterling’s Café.
VFW Auxiliary #2757 will meet at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Minnesota Veterans Home.
Rock County VFW Post 2757 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, in the Herreid Military Museum.
Lady Luverne Red Hats will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at St. Catherine’s east parking lot to carpool to Brandon for dinner at the steakhouse and the “Sound of Music” play at the Brandon PAC. Drivers are needed. Contact Donna Scholten at 283-8019.
MS Support Group meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Southwest Health and Human Services in Luverne. Those with MS, family and friends are invited. For information call 283-2069 or 283-2964.

Fey Industries observes 50 years on July 10
Fey Industries, Edgerton, will celebrate 50 years in business on Friday, July 10. The public is invited to attend an open house event between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The event includes tours of the facility, cake and refreshments.
Fey Industries is a light manufacturing company that was started in 1965 and now has more than 225 associates involved in the manufacturing and decorating of branded promotional advertising products and product packaging.
 
Time Out for Caregivers retreat set for July 15
Caregiver Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, in the Oaks Dining Room. State of Minnesota service representatives will speak about the Minnesota Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Call 283-5064 with questions.
 
Hot Dog Nite set for July 16
Luverne’s 53rd Annual Hot Dog Nite will be Thursday, July 16, on Main Street. The event will feature a beer garden at Sterling’s Café, live music, wiener dog races, wiener dog beauty contest and much more.
 
Register for Wienerman triathlon
Registration for the Hot Dog Nite Wienerman Triathlon on July 16 is available at www.allsportscentral.com. The race will begin and finish at the old Herman Motor Building with post race awards to follow. IV Play will play music will be from 8 to 11 p.m. Call Dave, 507-920-3345, with questions.
 
Cowboy Church in Luverne July 19
New Life Celebration Church, Luverne, will sponsor Cowboy Church at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 19, in the Show Arena at the Rock County Fairgrounds. Pastor Billy VanCamp, founder of Heart Cry Cowboy Church in Arizona, will deliver a Christian message in a unique cowboy style. The public is welcome. Call 507-449-6522 with questions.
 
‘Capture the Prairie’ exhibit at the Carnegie
The Carnegie is currently featuring a display by photographer Deb Leilani Parks, including photos taken at Blue Mounds State Park by her “Capture the Prairie” photography class. The exhibit is on display now until the end of July at the Carnigie Cultural Center in Luverne.

Play Dates at the Park for parents and their children ages birth to 5 years of age meets at 10 a.m. Wednesdays in the city park throughout the summer.  Gather as a group to have fun and socialize.  No fee, but registration required, please.
Learn how to make Sweater Mittens out of an old sweater and a t-shirt just like the mittens you have seen at the craft shows.  Bring a sweater from grandpa or grandma to make a treasured keepsake.  Class will be July 8.  Fee is $14.
Students who attended grades 1-4 during the past year will enjoy activities, crafts, snacks and more at Ag is Everywhere Day Camp on July 10.  Fee is $15.
Golf camp for students who attended grades 3 – 8 during the last school year will be the week of July 13 for 4 days.  Fee is $25.
The July 13–18 week long Cinderella Theatre Camp has openings for students who attended kindergarten during 2014-15 through age 7. Register now. Fee is $40.

Register for 2016 Discovery Time preschool. There are openings for children ages 3, 4, or 5 years in the Tuesday/Thursday afternoon classes. 
All 3-year-old children living in Minnesota will do an Early Childhood Screening as they near age 4. If your child is nearly 4 years old or already 4 and has not been screened, call 283-4724 to arrange an appointment.
