LHS ‘Footloose’ at Palace this weekend
The Luverne High School fall play cast will perform “Footloose” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Nov. 7-9, at the Palace Theatre in Luverne. Tickets are on sale at the Palace Box Office, 507-283-4339, or www.palacetheatre.us. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students.
 
Veterans invited to attend open house
Luverne Elementary School student council is hosting a Veterans Day Coffee Open House from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in the elementary school commons for all veterans. Parking is available in the bus lanes in front of the elementary school.
 
Bible Talks dates
Non-denominational Christian Bible Talks will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, in Grand Prairie Events, Luverne. All are welcome. Call 605-988-4446.
 
‘Unity Tree’ music program Nov. 8
The Luverne Elementary School second- and fourth-graders will present their music program, “The Unity Tree,” at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the elementary gymnasium.
 
Veterans Day programs Nov. 11
•Hills-Beaver Creek High School will host a program at 9 a.m. in the gymnasium in Hills.
•Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne will host a program at 10 a.m. featuring Luverne Mayor Pat Baustian as speaker.
•Luverne School District students will host a program and music at 2 p.m. in the high school gym.
•Hardwick American Legion will host a program with Boys Stater Gunnar Oldre as speaker and Bruce Dysthe with special music. Social hour is at 6 p.m. and meal is at 6:30.
 
Veterans Day open house reception
Veterans and their families are invited to an open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the Herreid Military Museum on 213 E. Luverne Street to honor them for their service.
Special features include tours of the museum and new exhibits, a reception for veterans in their honor, a commemorative Veterans Day gift and an opportunity to visit with Veterans Services Officer Dave Haugom from 10 a.m. to noon about benefits. Call 283-4061 with questions.
 
Women invited to Bible Study Fellowship

Learn how to use Google Sheets on Nov. 12 to help you manage your lists of data.  Fee is $5.
Easy Crochet Project on Nov. 12 and 19 will teach participants grades 5 through adult to make a hat and scarf.  The stitch is easy enough for beginners, yet a unique pattern that those with more experience will enjoy.  Fee is $17.  (Bring two skeins of yarn and a G or H crochet hook.)

K-grade 2 Basketball begins on Nov. 16 and meets two times each month through February. Fee is $15 for 8 sessions.
Cyber Security – Educate Yourself Now! will be Nov. 18. Avoid problems by educating yourself. Fee is $5, supported in part by Blandin Broadband Community Grant.

You must be licensed to ride snowmobile anywhere in Minnesota.  Students ages 11 and older may register (prior to Nov. 13) for the Snowmobile Safety Outdoor Course to be held on Nov. 23.  It will be necessary to complete the online course ahead of the outdoor portion.  Go to www.snowmobilecourse.com/usa/minnesota.  Fee for the outdoor portion is $10.
