Rock County Thrivent Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at Luverne Pizza Ranch.

The Caregivers Support Group will meet at Mary Jane Brown GSS at 5 p.m.Tuesday, March 22, in the conference room.
The Town and Country Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at St. Catherine school with a lesson on flower arranging. All are welcome, but reservations are needed. Call 507-597-6378 for details.

Luverne Township Board meets at 9 a.m. the second Wednesday of every month in the Rock County Community Library.
Mound Township Board meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Monday each month at the Rock County Highway Building, Luverne.
Southwest Minnesota Habitat for Humanity meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Habitat Office located in the alley entrance of 126 East Main Street. Visitors are Welcome. Call 507-215-2091 for further information.
 
No Monthly Food Mission in March
There will be no monthly food giveaway for the month of March.

Rock County spring weight road restrictions in effect
Spring weight road restrictions are in effect on Rock County roadways.
Starting and ending dates are based on how the weather is affecting roadway strength. Ending dates for spring load restrictions are variable, and drivers must check for updates throughout the spring.

Rock County Library open, ribbon-cutting March 17
The Rock County Community Library was reopened to patrons Monday, March 14. Ribbon-cutting for the completed remodeling project will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 17.
 
Tickets available for Green Earth Players ‘Frog and Toad’
The historic Palace Theatre in Luverne will host the Green Earth Players’ production of “Frog and Toad” March 18-20. Tickets are available to the general public by calling 507-283-4339.
 
St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 17, Reubens to follow
A parade to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, and will travel from Living Rock Church to Freeman Street in Luverne.
Following the parade, CHS will host Harvest for Hunger, a freewill donation meal consisting of corned beef or Reuben sandwiches, at the Eagles Club from 5 p.m. until gone.
 
Blue Mound Figure Skaters perform March 18-19
The Blue Mound Figure Skaters will present their 25th Annual Ice Show at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 17 and 18, at the Blue Mound Ice Arena in Luverne.
 
Easter egg hunt March 19 in Magnolia Park
The Magnolia Juniors 4-H Club will host an Easter egg hunt with door prizes and animals for children up to 10 years old at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, in the Magnolia park.
 
Sign up for the Luverne Baseball traveling team
Come to the Howling Dog on Monday, March 21, for burgers, fries and baseball. Sign-ups and a parent meeting will be for anyone in grades 3-6 interested in playing summer traveling baseball.
 
Community blood drive scheduled March 21
Community Blood Bank and Sanford Luverne will host a community blood drive from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, March 21. Donors must be at least 17, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. For information or to make an appointment, contact Sanford Luverne at 283-2321 or at www.cbblifeblood.org.
 
The Historic Palace Theatre shows ‘The Martian’ Thursday, March 24
Escape for an afternoon one Thursday each month. This month The Historic Palace Theatre will show “The Martian” at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 24. Admission is $5.
