Women’s Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Mondays in the United Methodist Church basement. Use the east entrance.

Luverne Lions will meet at 6 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month at Blue Mound Banquet Center.

Luverne Township Board meets at 9 a.m. the second Wednesday of every month in the Rock County Community Library.
Mound Township Board meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Monday each month at the Rock County Highway Building, Luverne.
Southwest Minnesota Habitat for Humanity meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Habitat Office located in the alley entrance of 126 East Main Street. Visitors are Welcome. Call 507-215-2091 for further information.
 
Throwback Thursday, June 23, features music, food, $50 for dogs
Throwback Thursday on June 23 on Main Street Luverne will feature live music at Sterling’s and at Herb N’ Legend from 5 to 9 p.m. The Chamber will give $50 to four people who walk their dogs on Main Street. Shops are open until 9 p.m.
 
Kids Connection at Farmers Market
American Reformed Church Youth Praise Band will provide Kids Connection at the Thursday night Farmers Market in Luverne from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 23.
 
 ‘Gitchie Girl’ authors at library June 25
The Rock County Library will host “Gitchie Girl” authors Phil and Sandy Hamman from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 25.
The authors will discuss survivor Sandra Chesky’s struggles in rebuilding her life emotionally and spiritually after witnessing the Gitchie Manitou 1973 mass murders and being sexually assaulted.
A book signing will follow the event. Books will be available for purchase at the library.
 
Hardwick celebrates Jubilee Days June 24-26
Hardwick Jubilee Days events are as follows:
•Friday, June 24: 8 p.m. Fast pitch softball.
•Saturday, June 25: Co-ed softball tourney; Community meal from 5-7 p.m. at Hardwick Fire Hall; 7 p.m. Parade; Pedal Pull after parade; 9 p.m. Street Dance with “Driven” band.
•Sunday, June 26: Outdoor worship service at Zion Lutheran at 10:30 a.m.
 
Steen outdoor concert June 26
The 20th annual outdoor community concert will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 26 at the Steen City Park. Musical guests are local talent Joseph Bartels, Keith Elbers, John Hauf accompanied by Lauren Vande Kamp, Victoria Kiers, Allie LaRock, Laura Leenderts and the Sandbulte Quartet. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy free juice, bars and ice cream during the event.
 
Eden church annual service June 26
The Eden Lutheran Church of rural Jasper will host its 76th annual service at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 26. A potluck noon meal will be served from the tent, and at 1:30 p.m. families belonging to the Eden congregation will meet for history, geneology and singing of favorite hymns. The church will be cleaned at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 25. Coffee and sweets will be served after cleaning. The church is 2 miles east and 1 mile north of Jasper. Call Bev, 348-4126, with questions.
 
Hospice memorial service June 27
Sanford Luverne Hospice Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, June 27, in the American Reformed Church, Luverne, to remember the 71 persons who died under hospice care in the past year (May 1, 2015 - May 1, 2016). The short program will include music, readings and refreshments. Call 283-1805 with questions.
 
Caregivers Support Group meets June 28
Caregivers Support Group will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at Mary Jane Brown GSS in the education room for a short video related to caregiving and dementia. Anyone who has questions related to caregiving or services available is encouraged to attend. Call Norma, 283-5064, with questions.
 
Rock County Public Library to host puppet show June 28
Come and join the Rock County Community Library at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, as Jim Oliver from Puppetater Productions performs his show “The Watering Can.” This wacky puppet show is about an older couple trying to save their garden from a pesky rabbit. This event is free and open to all ages.
 
Davis Lake Triathlon July 4
Registration is now open for the Davis Lake Triathlon July 4. The event will include a 9 a.m. mini race. The full race starts at 10 a.m. and will include kayaking, bike riding and running. The race can be run individually or in teams of 2-3.
To register stop by the Chamber or online visit www.allsportcentral.com. Registration for the mini race is $15, and the Davis Lake Triathlon will be $20.
Registration includes race entry, a T-shirt, food and a beverage after the race.
