Meetings
Generations meeting will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, in the Generations building. Agenda items include election of board members and approval of revised by-laws.
Women’s Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Mondays in the United Methodist Church.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays in the United Methodist Church, Luverne. Call 605-321-4324.
Alanon will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 7 and 21, in Sanford Luverne Blue Mound Room and then will go back to meeting the second and fourth Thursdays. Call 507-449-1246 with questions.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets from 8 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday in Runals Memorial Hall, Edgerton. Call Naomi, 507-215-2956.
 
Holiday bus schedule
Community Transit buses operate on a different schedule through the holidays. County-wide services run from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Within the city of Luverne, service is from 8 a.m. to noon on Sundays. No service is offered New Year's Day. Call 507-537-3861 with questions.
 
Food shelf announces holiday schedule
Holiday hours at the Rock County Emergency Food Shelf are from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26. The Food Shelf is located in the lower level of the United Methodist Church, Luverne.
 
Watch for Winter Community Ed brochure
The new Winter Community Education brochure will be included in the Jan. 5 edition of the Luverne Announcer. It is also on the Community Education page of the school website.
The Community Ed office is closed until Jan.  2.
 
Dental health clinics set for Jan. 8 and Feb. 5
Two dental health clinics for ages 0-26 will be at Rock County Health and Human Services at 2 Roundwind Road in Luverne on Wednesday, Jan. 8, and Tuesday, Feb. 5. Call 612-746-1530 to schedule an appointment, or stop at Rock County Health and Human Services for assistance in scheduling. Exams, X-rays, cleanings and more will be provided. All forms of insurance are accepted.

Cabin Fever Reliever for ages 0 to 5 and a parent will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 2.
A new 10-week session of ECFE classes begins the week of Jan. 6.
#Luv1LuvAll mental health focus group will meet Monday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. in the CE Room 802 for Mental Health Medication Information. Registration is required for this free class, and continuing ed credit forms are available.
Grades 5-6 Invitational Basketball Tournament will be Saturday, Jan. 25. Registration of girls’ and boys’ teams is now open. Forms are online on the Luverne Schools website under Community Ed current events.
Discovery Time Preschool classes have openings this winter. Early Learning scholarships are available to families who qualify.
Men’s Basketball will be Wednesday evenings from Jan. 8 through Feb. 26. Cost is $20.
A new series of ECFE classes begin the week of Jan. 6. The 90-minute classes offer an opportunity for parents to create memories with their children ages 0-5 with the staff and preschool rooms at school.
