Vorderbruggen, Murtha exchange vows in Sioux Falls
Sara Vorderbruggen and Andrew Murtha, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, were married Saturday, May 9, 2015, at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Sioux Falls.
Parents of the couple are Bonnie Vorderbruggen, Luverne, and the late Gerald Vorderbruggen, and Larry and Bonnie Murtha, Brandon, South Dakota.
Father Gregory Tschakert officiated at the ceremony. Special music for the ceremony was provided by violinist Hannah Gerdes, soloist Angela Lynch and organist Nancy Gerdes.
Jill Hoogendoorn, friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Wynia, friend of the bride, and Christine Murtha and Taylor Murtha, sisters of the groom. Krista Kemper, Nichole Vorderbruggen and Elizabeth Vorderbruggen, the bride’s cousins, were her personal attendants.
The groom’s best man was his brother, Phillip Murtha. Graham Murtha, the groom’s son, was honorary best man. Groomsmen were Eli Gary, Michael Clausen and Ryan Dellman, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Lee Heidenson, Tommy Kirkpatrick and Andrew Hartman, friends of the groom.
A reception at the Sioux Falls Convention Center followed the ceremony.
Sara graduated from Luverne High School in 2005 and from Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, South Dakota, in 2012. She is a registered nurse at Dakota Dermatology in Sioux Falls.
Andrew graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 2004 and from South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota, in 2008. He is a registered nurse in the intensive care unit at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
The couple live in Sioux Falls.
