The proposed facility consists of a 101’x192’ total confinement barn to house 2400 head of swine between 55 and 300 pounds. Using 0.3 animal units per head, total animal units are 720. The building shall have a 101’x192’x8’ poured reinforced concrete pit for manure storage. The existing feedlot has existing buildings including a 22’x48’ total confinement nursery with a 22’x48’x6’ poured concrete pit, a 28’x50’ total confinement nursery with a 4’x8’x50’ poured concrete pit, a 32’x108’ total confinement nursery with a 32’x88’x8’ poured concrete pit, and a 44’x64’ total confinement nursery with a 44’x64’x8’ poured concrete pit for 90 animal units. Total animal units on the Rock County site will be 810. This site is permitted with an adjoining site in Pipestone County. Existing buildings are a 41’x256’ total confinement finishing building with a 41’x256’x8’ poured concrete pit and two 41’x248’ total confinement buildings with 41’x248’x8’ poured concrete pits. The Pipestone County site has 1080 animal units.The described property is zoned as A-2, General Agriculture.
