Volleyball and football games this fall will look different

Covid-19 has changed how family members, friends and community members support prep sports in local schools.
The pandemic means there will be limited spectators at football games and no spectators, as we speak, at volleyball matches.
For football the crowd will be limited to 250 people. The crowd will consist of 125 spectators from the visiting team and the other half will consist of people from the home team.
“It will be half and half,” Luverne athletic director Todd Oye said. “Tickets will go to team members. They will get a certain amount of tickets to give to family members. We haven’t worked out all the details yet.”
As for volleyball, there will be no spectators allowed inside the gym to view the matches.
For people that are looking to watch the match, they’ll have to do so online via streaming services.
“We have NFHS (National Federation of State High School Association) inside the school,” Oye said. “But outside we don’t. So we are still working on that for football.”
NFHS is a streaming service website that allows people to watch prep sports without being at the actual game.
Viewers can sign up for the streaming service at NHFSNetwork.com, which will prompt them to search for the school they wish to watch or follow.
Viewers are asked to “create a profile,” which consists of an email and an eight-digit password.
There is a cost of $10.99 per month or a yearly pass for $69.99 (currently 47 percent off).
Once viewers have completed that process, they will be able to view prep sports seamlessly from the comfort of their own homes.
