The Luverne VFW baseball team ran its record to 7-0 with two home wins in the past week.
The Cardinals defeated Pipestone 20-10 Thursday and Slayton 10-5 Monday.
Luverne plays at Worthington on Thursday.

The Cardinals played a solid game when they hosted the Slayton VFW team Monday.
Jade Smith was the starting pitcher for Luverne. He pitched three innings and gave up five runs.
Tyler Reisdorfer replaced Smith, pitching four innings and giving up no runs.
Offensively for Luverne, Derek Lundgren was two for four at the plate and scored three runs.
Declan Beers was also two for four in the game. Beers and Will Mumme each scored two runs for Luverne.

Luverne came out on top of an offense-oriented game played in Luverne Thursday, June 9.
“It was a crazy one. Lots of errors and walks by both teams,” Luverne coach Mike Wenninger said.
Matt Ziegler and Ben Serie each pitched one inning for the Cardinals.
Lundgren finished the game on the mound, pitching the remaining four innings.
Mumme, Trey Roberts and Jade Smith each had two hits for Luverne.
Runs came in bunches for Luverne during the game.
Gaige Nath, Beers, Mumme and Mark Sterrett all crossed home plate three times while Jake Haugen, Lundgren and Smith scored twice in the contest.
