Verbrugge records hole-in-one
Missy Verbrugge of Luverne recorded her first hole-in-one while playing at Luverne Country Club Sunday.
Verbrugge’s ace occurred on the third hole at LCC where she used a pitching wedge to send the ball approximately 90 yards to the green. It rolled about five yards before dropping into the hole.
Her husband, Evan, witnessed the shot along with Mark and Lynette Springman and Travis Johnson.
Wienerman, Tour de Donut this week
This year’s four-person Wienerman Race is scheduled for Friday, July 17, with a 6 p.m. start at The Lake.
The July 18 Tour de Donut Minnesota bike ride will include options of 10, 17, 33 or 55 miles. The 55-mile race will begin at 7 a.m. and the other races begin at 8 a.m. Saturday.

LBA Golf Scrambler Aug. 7
The Luverne Basketball Association is hosting its Sixth Annual Golf Scrambler Friday, Aug. 7, at the Luverne Country Club.
The tournament is a nine-hole, four-person scrambler. The $30-per-person registration includes golf, cart and dinner.
All proceeds support the work of the Luverne Basketball Association.
