Luverne Jr. Legion baseball loses 14-12 to Marshall June 29

The Luverne Jr. Legion baseball team lost 14-12 to Marshall on the road Thursday, June 29.
In the high-scoring game Marshall struck first, driving in eight runs in the first and six runs in the second inning.
Luverne was able to keep Marshall from scoring in the last four innings.
The Cardinals scored twice  in the first inning with Blake Sauer and Elliot Domagala crossing home plate.
In the second inning Luverne added four more runs with Trevor DeBates, Maddox Domagala, Sauer and Elliot Domagala scoring.
In the third inning Landon Ahrendt and DeBates added two more runs.
That cut the lead to Marshall 14, Luverne 8.
The Cardinals got three more runs in the fifth inning.
Maddox Domagala, Sauer and Elliot Domagala scored to make the game 14 to 11.
Luverne was not able to overcome the deficit, only scoring one more run by Alex Schlosser in the seventh inning.
