LHS grad Rylee Olson is among athletes at Morningside University, Sioux City, Iowa, to be honored for academic achievement.
Morningside University’s men’s and women’s track and field programs and a combined seven student athletes were among the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ academic honorees released Wednesday, July 13.
The men’s 2022 squad, sporting a 3.196 grade-point average, and the women’s 2022 team, compiling a 3.539 GPA, were tabbed all academic.
The criteria for the accolade include the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution’s NAIA squad list for indoor and/or outdoor track and field being 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, certifiable by the institution’s registrar.
Olson, a Hardwick native and Morningside senior, was among six female athletes named for the honor.
