H-BC girls go 2-1 in conference play

The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team went 2-1 in conference games last week.
H-BC opened the week with a 55-43 loss to Edgerton on Tuesday. Following that loss, the Patriots bounced back to defeat Westbrook-Walnut Grove 51-28 on Friday, Feb. 26, in Hills.
Then on Monday, March 1, the Patriots edged Mountain Lake Area 45-42.

The Patriots’ offense went cold in the second half on Tuesday, Feb. 23, in Edgerton.
The Patriots started the second half trailing 28-24 but could only muster 19 points in the second half and ultimately lost 55-43.
Taryn Rauk led H-BC in scoring with 20 points. The senior added five rebounds to her stat line.

The Patriots used a strong first half on Friday to run away from the visiting Chargers.
The Patriots took a 28-14 lead into the locker room and then outscored WWG 23-14 in the second half to secure their ninth win of the season.
Rauk led the Patriots with 18 points. The senior also dished out four assists.
Abby Knobloch recorded a double-double for the Patriots. Knobloch scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
With the win over Mountain Lake Area on Monday, March 1, the Patriots improved to 10-2 overall.
