Tennis team sweeps RWV
The Luverne tennis team completed Big South Conference play with a 3-1 record after sweeping Redwood Valley Thursday in Redwood Falls.
LHS won six of the seven matches in straight sets.
Erik Wohnoutka (7-6, 6-2 over Tyler Hagen at No. 1), Cory Stroeh (6-0, 6-2 over Max Russell at No. 2) and Jacob Jarchow (6-3, 7-5 over Nate Benson at No. 3) won their singles matches in straight sets.
Trey Baustian pulled out a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Aaron Boyle at No. 4.
Dalton Schoeneman and Chris Jelken nailed down 6-2 and 6-0 victories over Cole Pettis and Nathaniel Passe at first doubles, while Mark Robinson and Cade VerSteeg saddled Logan Dehncke and Sam Christianson with a pair of 6-1 setbacks at No. 2.
Tanner Baustian and Isaac Gillette posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Beau Nesburg and Michael Davila in the third slot.
