The Luverne girls cross country team won the Small School Division of the Big South Conference Cross Country Championships in Waseca Oct. 20. Team members include (front row, from left) Regan Feit, Madison Schandelmeier, Cassie Flanagan, (back) Gabrielle Ferrell, Madison Residorfer, Autumn Nath and Claire Baustian. Schandelmeier, Feit and Ferrell also made the all-league team, while Flanagan, Nath and Reisdorfer received honorable mention honors.

LHS girls win first BSC title

The Luverne girls’ turned in a commanding performance at the Big South Conference Cross Country Championships in Waseca Oct. 20.

Competing in the six-team Small School Division of the event, the Cardinals ran away from the pack to win their first BSC team championship.

Luverne turned in a 27-point effort, besting second-place finishing Pipestone (63 points) by 36 points.
