Patriot girls capture Red Rock Conference crown

The Hills-Beaver Creek girls completed a 23-0 regular season by winning their 16th consecutive league game at Southwest Christian High School in Edgerton.

The Patriots needed a win to captured the RRC title outright and got it by outscoring the E-Gals by six points in both halves (31-25 and 46-40) of a 77-65 victory.

Sidney Fick (28 points, five rebounds and five steals), Grace Bundesen (14 points and 11 rebounds), Taryn Rauk (13 points), Whitney Elbers (10 points, 17 rebounds and five blocked shots), Kenadie Fick (10 points and five assists) and Abby Knobloch (four assists) made key contributions to the win.

 

Adrian boys record season’s eighth win

The Adrian boys’ basketball team posted win No. 8 of the season when the Dragons bested Heron Lake-Okabena 73-35 in Adrian.

The Dragons coasted to a 40-16 halftime lead and outscored the Wildcats 33-19 in the second half to complete their 38-point conquest.

Ian Stamer (20 points,four steals and three assists) Noah Reyne (17 points and seven rebounds), Christian Weidert (11 rebounds, three steals and three assists), Cole Domeyer (five rebounds) and Lance Luettel (five rebounds) led the Dragons to victory.

 

Wilhelmi explodes for 45 points in H-BC loss.

Hills-Beaver Creek senior Preston Wilhelmi scored a career-high 45 points during a 99-78 home loss to Southwest Christian.

Wilhelmi also recorded three assists for an H-BC team that fell behind 55-30 in the first half before sporting a 48-44 scoring edge in the second stanza.

Easton Harnack registered three assists as well for H-BC.

 

Wolverines roll to big win over Panther boys

The Ellsworth boys’ couldn’t stage an upset when they challenged Mountain Lake Area in a basketball game in Mountain Lake.

The Wolverines opened a 20-point halftime lead (44-24) before outscoring EHS 40-19 in the second half to complete an 84-43 victory.

Brandon Kramer scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Panthers.

 

EHS girls cap regular season in Mountain Lake

The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team finished regular season play with a 6-13 record after taking a 55-30 setback from Mountain Lake Area in Mountain Lake.

The Wolverines outscored the Panthers 26-10 in the first half before sporting a 29-20 scoring advantage in the second stanza to complete a 55-30 victory.

Kallie Chapa led the Panthers with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the game.
