Patriot girls run winning streak to 14 straight
The Hills-Beaver Creek girls’ basketball team posted its 14th consecutive victory by upending Mountain Lake Area 60-42 in Mountain Lake.
H-BC doubled (38-19) MLA’s scoring output in the first half and won by 18 after MLA produced a 23-22 scoring edge in the second half.
Grace Bundesen (22 points, seven rebounds and three assists), Sidney Fick (20 points and three assists), Madison Spath (six rebounds), Whitney Elbers (five rebounds), Kourtney Rozeboom (six rebounds), Paige Tilstra (three assists) and Abby Knobloch (three assists) turned in productive nights for the Patriots.
Adrian produces Red Rock Conference victory
The Adrian girls’ basketball team picked up its sixth league victory of the winter by defeating Westbrook-Walnut Grove 56-39 in Adrian.
The Dragons sported a 22-17 lead after 18 minutes of play before outscoring the Chargers 34-22 in the second half to win by 17.
Hannah Bullerman (15 points, five rebounds and three steals), Lexi Slater (12 points and three steals), Paige Bullerman (10 points and nine rebounds), Moriah Bullerman (four assists), Bailey Lonneman (seven rebounds) and Avery Balster (five steals) led AHS statistically.
Falcons top Panther girls in Ellsworth
The Ellsworth girls’ basketball team lost its eighth Red Rock Conference game of season when Red Rock Central topped the Panthers 53-37 in Ellsworth.
The Falcons opened an 11-point (28-17) cushion in the first half and outscored EHS 25-20 in the second half to complete their 16-point win.
Ashlyn Meester (nine points, three assists and three steals), Morgan Dreesen (nine points) and Lizzie Chapa (seven rebounds) played well for the Panthers.
