H-BC boys with stand late challenge in Fulda
The Hills-Beaver Creek boys picked up their second Red Rock Conference basketball victory of the season when they nipped Fulda 52-50 in Fulda.
After sporting a 31-22 lead in the first half, H-BC was outscored 28-21 in the second half and prevailed by two points when the Raiders missed a potential game-winning three-point shot in the final seconds.
Zach Scholten (17 points and seven rebounds), Stuart Plimpton (11 points and five rebounds), Isaiah Vis (eight assists and three steals) and Jed Burgers (five rebounds) led H-BC to victory.
Wolverines rally to knock off Adrian boys
The Adrian boys’ basketball team couldn’t withstand a second-half rally when the Dragons challenged Mountain Lake Area in Mountain Lake.
The Dragons led 37-36 after 18 minutes of play, but the Wolverines outscored AHS 40-26 in the second half to secure a 76-63 win.
Zach Hendel (17 points and three steals), Mitchell Lonneman (16 points), Ryan Wieneke (three assists) and Alex Loosbrock (three assists) led the Dragons statistically.
Ellsworth boys drop fourth consecutive contest
The Ellsworth boys lost their fourth-straight basketball game when they took on Westbrook-Walnut Grove in Westbrook.
W-WG led 35-23 at the intermission before EHS rallied to outscore the hosts 35-24 in the second half of a 59-58 loss.
Malik Herman (24 points and 13 rebounds), Bobby Walkowaik (10 points) and Jared Leuthold (five assists) paced the Panthers statistically.
