The Adrian Area softball team notched its second consecutive Red Rock Conference victory by topping Heron Lake-Okabena 7-4 in Ellsworth.
AA’s Madison Neuenberg drove in three runs with three hits and Olivia Weidert cracked a three-run double during a four-run rally in the sixth inning that turned in 4-3 deficit into a three-run lead.
Devin Dreesen tossed seven innings of eight-hit, eight-strikeout ball to earn the pitching win.
Dragons drop first RRC game to HL-O
The Adrian baseball team lost its first conference game of the season when it came up on the short end of a 2-1 decision to Heron Lake-Okabena in Heron Lake.
Adrian knotted the score at one when Logan Rogers delivered an RBI single in the top of the sixth inning, but Rogers took the pitching loss when he issued a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Landon Rogers pitched six innings of one-run ball without gaining a decision.
Patriot golfers place third in Fulda
The Hills-Beaver Creek boys’ golf team recorded a 194-stroke total to place third at the Fulda Triangular.
With Jack Pierson and Brad Schreiber firing 81s to share medalist honors, Murray County Central nipped Fulda 180-181 to claim the team title.
