AHS baseball team completes 9-1 RRC slate

The Adrian Dragons wrapped up Red Rock Conference play by rolling to a 14-2 home win over Mountain Lake Area.

After falling behind 2-1 early, the Dragons outscored the Wolverines 13-0 the rest of the way to win the game in five innings.

Landon Rogers drove in four runs with three hits, Mitchell Wagner had three hits and three RBIs and Michael Preuss, Zach Hendel, Zach Loosbrock and Alex Loosbrock, who tossed a complete game, chipped in two hits each.

 

Dragon teams place third at golf events

The Adrian golf squads turned in third-place efforts at different tournaments.

The Dragon girls competed at the eight-team Fulda Invitational and the Dragon boys attended the nine-team Westbrook-Walnut Grove Tournament in Westbrook.

Jada Elias and Alexia Kemper shot 95s to share fifth place for an AHS girls’ team that turned in a 413-stroke effort to place third in a field led by Windom (360).

Mackenzie Wagner and Annika Elias added 105- and 118-stroke rounds to the team tally, while Madelyn Odell and Courtney Penning shot 125- and 136-scores without impacting the team tally.

Adrian’s Ryan Elias shot a 78 to secure medalist honors for the Dragons, who registered a 362-stroke effort to place third in a field led by Murray County Central (354).

Brady Henning, Mitchell Veld and Cole Weidert contributed 88-, 92- and 104-stroke rounds to the team tally, while Landon Runia and John Christians shot 109- and 118-stroke rounds without impacting the scoring.
