On Friday the number was up to 120 and then to 155 on Monday, Dec. 18.
School nurse Deb Vander Kooi said separating the kids over Christmas vacation should be a big help.

•The football banquet featuring the motion pictures of the eight games played this fall on the Minnesota Gophers’ road to the national gridiron championship, will be held Monday, Dec. 30. ...
The dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. at the Manitou hotel, to be followed by a short speaking program. The films of the Minnesota games played against some of the country’s leading teams will be the climax of the evening.
Dick Wildung, Luverne member of the Gopher regulars, will be in attendance.

•New Year’s eve — one week from tonight — is the date for the presentation of the big Christmas cantata, “Lord and King,: b a chorus of nearly one hundred voices. The cantata will be given at the New Palace theatre, and the receipts from the venture are to be contributed to a fund for the purchase of equipment for the city park. ...
Tickets have been placed at the uniform price of 25 cents for all parts of the house, and seats may be reserved without extra charge at the Leas bookstore.
