•MainStreet Financial Services in Luverne has bragging rights to being the first securities office in the country to use electronic signature technology.
Local Financial Advisor Mike Cox said he’s pleased to be the beta testing site for the technology known as eSignature.
 
25 years ago (1995)
•It’s like opening a can of worms to mention changes in Luverne’s sign ordinance, but the Luverne’s Planning and Zoning Commission is bravely considering revisions. City Administrator Doug Bunker suggested off premises directional signs for traveling customers on Highway 75.

•Highway 75 will be widened to a four-lane width from the south city limits to the interstate 90 interchange this year, according to Ellsworth Johnson, Mankato, district engineer for the Minnesota Highway Department.

•Another arm of the national defense program extended into Rock county this week, with the selection of 13 so-called aircraft warning observers who will scan the skies over the county’s 12 townships for airplanes in flight.

•A tentative agreement was made Tuesday evening by the common council of the city of Luverne and the village council of Hardwick, whereby Luverne will supply Hardwick with electric current.
