Dispatch report
March 25
•Complainant requested subject be picked up and taken to jail for a probation violation.
•Complainant reported they were taking subject to the hospital, and they locked the residence.
•Complainant reported that when she was heading out of Luverne on Highway 75 there was a vehicle coming into town with a male driver wearing a hoodie, and he possibly had a gun propped up in the backseat. Complainant did not get a license number but thought the vehicle was a black Cutlass or Buick. No further information.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call. Turned out to be a pocket dial. No problems.
•Complainant reported a domestic situation. Man beat woman and took off.
•Complainant reported an older silver car has been driving really slow heading west up Barck Avenue. He has been doing it for hours. He will pull over to let cars pass. He seems to be watching a couple houses. Deputy reported subject is out cruising.
•Complainant reported a gasoline spill of about four to five gallons. Paged Luverne Fire Department.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call with no one on the line. Called back number. No answer. Deputy was sent and found a kid playing with the phone.
•Complainant reported her grandmother was scammed out of money.
•Complainant reported a white Bonneville and a white G6 are racing on the 400 block of West Lincoln Street.
•Deputy got a report of some people trying to break into Power Fitness and jumping cars at location. Juveniles from the bowling alley are waiting for rides. Informed to stay in bowling alley.
March 26
•Complainant reported a small fire in the trees at location. Paged Luverne Fire Department. Turned out subject was burning near the Boy Scout Camp. He will watch it. Checked history. Subject does not have a fire permit. Deputy cited him for no burn permit.
•Complainant reported he and his fiancée are feeling threatened by a neighbor. Guy lives in the same apartment building. Deputy spoke with both parties and advised them of their rights.
•Complainant reported issues with his ex. Deputy told him to get it straightened out through the court system.
•Complainant reported she desperately needed help and a place to stay. When she was told of a place, she declined because she didn’t like the arrangements.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on his sister.
•Complainant called and wanted assistance with getting gas to a female at location. Female is from the state of Washington. Unknown direction of travel. Contacted Erwin’s, but she could not afford money for travel and the price of gas. Deputy was sent to assist.
March 27
•Complainant reported that he met a lady at the Legion in Sioux Falls on Saturday and brought her home to his place where she is still at. She goes by Seira and Dakota. He doesn’t know her real name or last name. She is 53 years old and will soon be 54. She is threatening to call the Madison Police Department. He would like a deputy to come, as at this point he is just avoiding her. Deputy reported that subject is intoxicated. She will sleep at the Quality Inn tonight and make arrangements to get home in the morning.
•Complainant reported that her son is drunk and very combative. He is fighting with his brother. Deputy brought subject to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office to catch a ride with someone for a place to stay for the night.
•Complainant reported they need subject at the hospital as soon as possible for an emergency, and she is not answering her phones. Send deputy, and he said no one was home.
•Complainant reported he is supposed to pick the kids up for the Easter holiday. Their mother will not bring them to their normal meeting place. Complainant wanted to meet at a public location, and the mother didn’t. Advised complainant to go to the court to change the court order.
•Complainant reported subject is not returning the kids. He is at the laundry mat, and she will not go there and pick them up.
•Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of his house at location. Vehicle was parked there, and the occupants got out and got into another vehicle and drove off. Complainant looked in vehicle and found open beer can. Maroon Chevy Silverado.
March 28
•Complainant reported they received a report from subject who feels he is being abused.
•Complainant reported a domestic situation.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on a young lady that is supposed to be in Rock County. She was contacted and said she is fine and will call her parents. Notified Waite Park Police Department.
•Complainant requested a check on a building that has a bad smell coming from it.
•Complainant reported a verbal domestic. Her husband is drunk. Family left for the night and man will stay there.
•Complainant requested to speak with someone about bullying issues with his son.
March 29
•Complainant reported a vulnerable adult.
•Complainant reported a vulnerable adult.
•Complainant reported they got a fire alarm. Paged Luverne Fire Department to Total Card.
•Complainant reported the cones around the road repair were hit. Some were broken and some missing at Kniss Avenue and Brown Street. Deputy put some on the Highway 75 side. Left a message for city workers to see if they wanted to go and put some on the Brown Street side.
March 30
•Complainant reported his wife is getting calls from a woman saying she is being charged with something.
•Complainant reported a suspicious vehicle. The guy went from Ace to the Fire Hall and tried to punch in numbers, then was parked by the County Attorney’s office.
•Complainant reported there has been a white Dodge van with Montana plates in their lot with a man in his 50s who has an old McDonald’s cup and comes in to refill it with pop and then goes back out without paying for anything. They want a deputy to drive through the lot. They called back and said he took off.
•Complainant reported issues with his girlfriend’s mailbox in Beaver Creek.
•Complainant requested a deputy come to Hills to assist with a man who doesn’t have money and is acting strange.
•Complainant requested someone check on a man who pressed his button, and he is hard to understand. Also contacted Southwest Health and Human Services.
•Complainant reported that someone is parked on the 100 block of North Freeman Avenue with the stereo blaring so loud the pictures on her wall are vibrating.
March 31
•Complainant requested deputies do a walkthrough.
•Complainant reported her taillight on her vehicle is broken. She has a suspect.
•Complainant reported possible theft.
•Complainant reported they would be taking someone to a nursing home until he recovers and they will let us know which one, in case someone is looking for him.
•Complainant reported a sex offense.
•Complainant reported a burglar at 609 West Luverne Street. Resident caught and detained subject in act. Deputy placed subject under arrest. Subject was transported to Nobles County Jail.
•Complainant reported a domestic in the county.
•Complainant reported a situation with children that is dangerous.
•Complainant requested a deputy for backup in domestic.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on an individual who was seen walking on the roadway. Individual was wearing a plaid shirt with a blue bandana covering most of his face. Deputy located subject and transported subject to Hardwick.
In addition, officers responded to 5 motor vehicle accidents, 1 deer accident, 3 vehicles in ditch, 1 funeral escort, 15 traffic stops, 1 DWI, 1 gas drive-off, 1 parking violation, 10 ambulance runs, 3 paper services, 8 animal complaints, 2 false alarms, 1 fingerprint request, 7 log/alarm sheets, 2 drug court tests, 3 money escorts, and issued 8 purchase/carry permits and 25 burn permits.
