Dispatch report
March 11
•Dispatch received a 911 call with a male and female screaming constantly. Sounded like she was driving and probably drunk. He was trying to get her to pull over, and she didn’t want to. She kept saying something about him slapping her across the face. Dispatch contacted AT&T and was able to get the owner of the phone and they also pinged the location.
•Deputy stopped to do a check on an individual with a warrant.
•Complainant reported a 1.5 to 2 year old alone. Deputy brought child to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. Checked with residents in the area. Made contact with the parent. Mom was sleeping and struggles with anxiety. Visibly shaken when the child returned.
•Complainant requested a residence check through the weekend until they get new locks.
•Complainant reported a white van speeding at location. Transferred to Patrol.
•Deputy spoke to subject about the hours of the park and his activity out there. Nothing illegal going on.
•Deputy was requested to check on things at apartment building.
•Stopped at bonfire at the Rez in Hills to check on an Iowa vehicle that was uninvited. Dispatch also received a call on the vehicle, possibly older and tan in color. It has a loud muffler. Vehicle would tear down the street near the elevator and then back up and turn down a side street.
March 12
•Deputy checked on a vehicle at the Interpretive Center. Male and female minors. Parents were notified.
•Complainant reported he has shared custody of the kids, and his ex moved to Luverne a month ago. Deputy explained to complainant that he would need to see the court order before he could do anything. Complainant did not understand.
•Complainant reported someone shot up a vehicle.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on a juvenile.
•Complainant reported unsafe driving of neighboring vehicle.
•Complainant requested a deputy deliver a message to someone for her.
•Deputy reported a vehicle up over the curb at Freeman Avenue and Warren Street. Subject has had driving issues before in 2015 and was supposed to do an evaluation by April, 2015. Deputy checked on subject, and he was not intoxicated. Will request another evaluation test be completed.
March 13
•Complainant reported they were hearing popping noises like fireworks or gunshots. Deputy found subject and a friend who were drinking and setting off fireworks.
•Complainant reports she is having custody issues.
•Deputy patrolled area checking for a wanted person.
•Complainant reported a driving complaint on I-90. Transferred to Patrol.
•Complainant reported the theft of wood from his wood pile.
•Complainant reported someone has been in empty apartments again. Nothing was left behind, but the doors were unlocked and the heat was turned up again.
•Complainant reported she was told by her case manager to call law enforcement if her ex didn’t let her daughter call her. Deputy advised it will be sent to Family Services.
•Complainant reported a suspicious car driving around Hardwick really slow. He is going over and over the same streets. This has been going on for about 20 minutes.
•Deputy reported subject was burning in Hardwick. Checked and burn permit is not valid. He was advised to get a new one. He went to get the skid loader and put the fire out.
•Complainant reported a car is driving past spinning the tires in Hardwick.
•Deputy walked through apartment building at location. They found three open doors.
March 14
•Dispatch received a 911 call from Beaver Creek that was busy on callback. Notified deputy.
•Dispatch received many, many calls from people stating that their power was out. They were perturbed when told that dispatch didn’t know what happened and didn’t know when the power would be back on.
•Complainant reported an alarm at a business. It was due to power outage.
•Complainant reported an alarm at a business. It was due to power outage, and everything was OK, as per key holder.
•Complainant requested assistance setting up portable oxygen due to power outage. Deputy assisted.
•Complainant reported Lifeline activation for subject. Deputy assisted.
•Complainant reported theft of some personal items.
•Dispatcher received a trouble alarm from business. Key holder will get it straightened out tomorrow.
•Dispatch received 911. Could hear a male talking. Call disconnected. When complainant was reached, he advised it was an accidental dial.
•Dispatch received 911. No answer on callback. Notified deputy.
•Complainant found an EBT card in the parking lot and brought it to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
•Complainant requested a deputy to his yard for a cat that was dying. Complainant wanted somebody to put it out of its misery.
March 15
•Complainant reported concerns about possible child abuse.
•Complainant requested deputy for an assist.
•Complainant reported he lost a 200 pound Holstein calf. It is unknown how it got out of its crate.
•Complainant reported a vulnerable adult.
•Complainant received a report of 70 gallons thin stillage spilled. It was cleaned up properly.
•Complainant reported she received a check for a mixer, and when she took it to the bank, they advised her the account on the check is closed.
•Complainant requested to speak to a deputy about issues with neighbors. Deputy spoke to both parties.
•Complainant reported his brother was driving along the ditch and found a social security card. Card was brought into dispatch and mailed into social security.
•Complainant reported they have a resident who refuses to leave the aquatic center. Complainant requested assistance.
March 16
•Complainant reported he locked his keys in his vehicle in Hills.
•Complainant reported she is getting calls saying she owes money, and if she doesn’t pay, there will be a warrant issued for her. Today she got an email from the same person. He has the last four digits of her social security number. This is fraud.
•Complainant reported she is getting calls from someone saying they are from the IRS. This is a scam.
•Complainant reported problems with a mother and son.
•Complainant reported the road signs at location have blown down. Gave to Patrol.
•Complainant reported subject is burning, and there is a burn ban. Deputy spoke with subject, and told him to put it out. Deputy explained the rules of a burn permit to him.
•Complainant reported Saturday a subject went into her shop and harassed her mom. There is the ongoing issue over parking. Complainant reported the sign subject put up for her parking is blowing over and hitting complainant’s car. It is not damaging it right now, but if the wind continues to blow, it is going to.
•Complainant reported some issues with a client that lives at an HSI house.
•Dispatcher received a 911 call with no one on the line. Contacted complainant, and he is fine.
•Complainant requested a deputy accompany him on some probation checks.
•Complainant reported when he came out of church someone had stolen an Adidas gym bag and contents along with a change holder and contents.
•Complainant was walking the bike trails when he spotted a black Chevrolet pickup pull into the entrance of Henning Construction and turn off its lights. It seemed odd for this time of night. Sent deputies to check it out.
•Deputy spoke with subject who was trying to deliver a package on 150th Avenue. He was back on Darlene’s Bend. Deputy gave him directions on where to go.
March 17
•Deputy did a search for a wanted person.
•Complainant reported the theft of his fire pit valued at $50. He was going to check with management to see if they had picked it up.
•Complainant reported smoke froma fire rolling across the roadway. There is a burn ban currently enacted.
•Luverne Fire assisted with St. Patrick’s Day parade.
•Complainant reported fire in shed at location. Paged Luverne Fire Department and ambulance.
In addition, officers responded to 4 motor vehicle accidents, 1 vehicle in ditch, 2 transports, 19 traffic stops, 3 DWIs, 14 ambulance runs, 1 paper service, 10 animal complaints, 2 false alarms, 1 driver’s license check, 7 log/alarm sheets, 3 drug court tests, 5 money escorts, and issued 16 purchase/carry permits and 33 burn permits.
