Dispatch report
June 24
•Deputy reported an abandoned vehicle at County Road 17 and County Road 4. Tried to contact owner with no answer.
•Complainant in Hardwick reported damage to his vehicle.
•Complainant reported a train car blocking a roadway. Deputy reported it is being worked on.
•Complainant requested we test subject. He had been drinking, which is a violation of his release conditions. Subject was taken to jail.
•Complainant reported a domestic situation between family members, and they do not feel safe being there.
•Deputy reported a vehicle almost hit him while he was assisting a stalled motorist at County Road 4 and I-90 overpass. Deputy made contact with the vehicle on County Road 4.
•Complainant called and requested a welfare check on subject. She is on medication and is probably drinking.
•Complainant reported male in dark clothing walking on the side of the road, and he almost hit him. Deputy advised subject is going to wait in his vehicle tonight and see about getting it fixed in the morning. Vehicle is near Beaver Creek. Deputy gave subject a ride to it.
•Deputy advised car at park with no one around. Contacted owner. He was at a church function and forgot someone else had brought his car. He will be en route to move it.
•Complainant reported very loud music keeping her awake in the area of the ice arena.
•Complainant reported her van is on I-90 by Beaver Creek, but is not blocking. She will get it moved by morning.
June 25
•Complainant reported subject is on Facebook trying to cause trouble by saying she’s dating. Complaint wanted it noted. Complainant reported again at 1:03 p.m. that she feels this is a violation of her order for protection. She spoke with a deputy about this.
•Complainant reported that her sister is holding her hostage and she wants to go home. Complainant appears to be a vulnerable adult.
•Complainant reported subject is at location with a broken down vehicle that he slept in last night. Herman Motors cannot get the parts until Monday. Complainant would like to see the subject get a hotel voucher. Helped through Salvation Army.
•Dispatcher received a call from a belligerent person that we have dealt with numerous times. Subject was under the influence.
•Complainant reported the same trespass issues with the same subject happening again.
•Dispatch received a call from Sioux Falls metro regarding a missing person that was spotted near Adrian. Metro wanted Rock County aware of the situation in case he came west on I-90. Nobles County had received a teletype of the missing male. Subject has dementia.
•Complainant reported all Hardwick units will be out for the parade tonight in Hardwick.
•Complainant reported a vehicle on I-90 westbound over fog and center. Complainant says the vehicle is stopped on the shoulder of I-90 at mile marker 17.
•Complainant reported there was knocking on their house again, and this time they caught two boys and wanted a deputy to speak with them.
June 26
•Complainant reported a vehicle was sitting at 101st Street and 74th Avenue. When complainant approached the vehicle to ask what they were doing, the vehicle sped off west on 101st Street then north on County Road 6.
•Complainant reported that her ex won’t let her see her child. Since the ex has full custody, according to paperwork, she was advised to get an attorney.
•Complainant reported that his son was being deprived of visitation rights by his grandson’s mother. Complainant wanted a deputy to come and look at custody papers and to have the report documented. Child was turned over to the father.
•Complainant reported that when he was asked to leave a house, they only let him take his clothes, and he wants his bed at TV.
•Complainant reported that subject is threatening to take her to court if she gives an old roommate his personal property back. Complainant requested to speak to a deputy to make sure subject can’t do anything about it legally.
•Dispatch has received six false 911 calls from this address in the past two days. Dispatch hears children playing in the background, music and TV. When the deputy arrived to speak with subject, he denied that his children were playing on the phone.
•Complainant reported that she received a picture message from subject, and it shows subject with a bloody lip. Complainant wants a welfare check done.
•Complainant requested that a deputy at location be a part of a property exchange with subject. Both parties exchanged property without incident.
•Complainant reported that she was arrested for DWI in Rock County, and she had issues with the arrest and was going to take it world wide. She was told that the deputy had everything documented and had a video of the arrest and she was given the deputy’s voicemail.
•Complainant reported five kids on three four-wheelers just drove past her house and none of them are 16. One of them has a BB gun.
June 27
•Complainant reported a homeless-looking man with lots of bags walking southbound on County Road 6 three miles north of Hills.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on her son. Would like a callback.
•Complainant reported a vagrant is at their office in Hills looking for assistance with food stamps. Came from Sioux Falls area. Deputy transported him to Adrian Rest Area and notified Nobles County.
•Complainant reported subject is going to be sleeping in north side of lot on the 600 block of South Kniss Avenue for the next few days. Complainant is OK with it.
•Complainant reported that his son is harassing him on Facebook. Advised to get a harassment restraining order.
•Complainant requested to speak to a deputy because neighbor kids who live in a white house by the alley ride their bikes and stand on the sidewalk in front of her house and her dog barks. She feels they are harassing her dogs.
•Dispatch received a pocket dial and had deputy check things out. Everything was OK.
•Complainant called to speak to a sergeant immediately. She said a deputy charged her with a DWI when she wasn’t drunk. Complainant said she has a friend who is a reporter and is going to give the story to him.
•Dispatch received a 911 call and tracked it. When deputy spoke with subject, he denied making the call. Must have been a pocket dial.
June 28
•Complainant reported that her son went missing about an hour ago. Deputies helped them look for him, but the parents ended up finding him and bringing him home.
•Complainant reported a vagrant sleeping in the ditch on the south side of the road. Deputy transported him to the Minnesota/South Dakota line.
•Complainant requested traffic control at location while they do work on railroad tracks.
•Complainant requested a deputy arrest subject for a DWI. He drove to his appointment and was under the influence. Subject was taken to jail.
•Complainant reported a homeless guy riding a moped went around the elevators in Beaver Creek, and now she can’t hear the moped any longer. She is not sure if he is going to sleep there and not cause trouble or if it is a concern. He was located at the ball field.
•Complainant reported a camper fire at the city park in Magnolia. Unknown if occupied. Paged Magnolia Fire Department and ambulance. Deputy made contact with owner. Unoccupied. Vehicle just purchased, not the owner not registered. Will not be able to pick it up until tomorrow.
•Complainant reported the neighbors were in front of her gate. She doesn't’ know if they threw something in her yard, but does think they are taunting her dog.
•Community Compliance Monitoring in Beaver Creek reported subject was supposed to test tonight, and he didn’t. When asked about the situation, subject had trouble explaining why he didn’t have his equipment and sounds intoxicated. Notified probation officer.
June 29
•Complainant reported a person walking on I-90 near mile marker 10 westbound. Transferred to Patrol. Deputy located one male who ran off.
•Complainant reported damage to the rear quarter panel of vehicle.
•Complainant reported that she and her daughter’s Facebook page are being controlled by a man claiming to be a professional hacker employed by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. Complainant was informed that this is a scam and that she should have her computer serviced. Subject says his name is Manuel Alexis Garcia.
•Complainant reported a female subject walking alone west at location. Physical description: black skirt, gray shirt, long brown hair.
•Complainant requested to speak with a deputy about her children and something that happened to her in another county.
•Complainant reported someone is shining a light around County Road 9 and 71st Street. Deputy checked area, but could not find anyone.
June 30
•Complainant came into the Rock County Sheriff’s Office to speak with a deputy about a civil matter being the executor of a will.
•Complainant reported a woman is having problems getting her husband in his wheelchair at the motel. Deputy assisted.
•Complainant reported she bought some property on a sheriff’s sale. The former owner sent her a certified letter that he is going to be there today to reclaim the property. Sent deputy to speak with her.
•Complainant reported possible child abuse with concerns about harming others.
•Complainant reported possible sexual abuse.
•Complainant reported a violation of her order for protection. Subject is contacting other people and posting things on Facebook.
•Complainant reported branches in the back of a truck hit the crosswalk lights at intersection location. City Hall was contacted to send someone to location to look at it.
•Complainant reported possible vandalism to her vehicle.
In addition, officers responded to 4 motor vehicle accidents, 4 deer accidents, 2 transports, 3 funeral escorts, 2 traffic stops, 6 ambulance runs, 3 paper services, 4 animal complaints, 1 false alarm, 7 log/alarm sheets, 6 drug court tests, and issued 3 purchase/carry permits and 4 burn permits.
