Dispatch report
July 15
•Complainant requested we check location for subject with felony warrants and possible stolen silver or gray Nissan Titan with dealer plates. Stolen vehicle was recovered and towed to impound by G&S. Notified South Dakota authorities.
•Complainant reported he was assaulted on the 300 block of East Crawford Street.
•Complainant reported her daughter is missing. She is 18, but no one has heard from her in days. Complainant was informed that she could enter her as a missing person if she feels that she is in danger.
•Complainant reported that there is a blue Toyota vehicle sitting in the parking lot at location. The windows are down, and two children of unknown age are in the vehicle. She is unsure if the kids sit in the car all day long while the parents are at work. Would like a deputy to check on them. Deputy went to location. 10-2 There was an adult in the driver’s seat with the engine running. They were waiting for someone to come out.
•Deputy stopped to assist a motorist on Highway 75 at 91st Street.
•Lifeline reported a medical alarm from location. No response. Called back to cancel.
•Complainant brought in a US Bank Visa card he found on the 2200 block of East Luverne Street. Contacted owner, and he stated that he has cancelled the card and requested it be shredded.
•Complainant reported subject is shooting off a gun again. The shots are going really fast.
•Complainant reported the music across the street is so loud he can hear it in his living room. Deputy advised this is an ongoing neighborhood dispute. Music coming from the garage is not that loud. Deputy will talk to complainant and monitor if it goes past 10 p.m. Complainant yelled at deputy while he was trying to talk to him.
•Deputy was flagged down by someone who reported a vehicle stopped, but not quick enough, when he was crossing the street.
•Deputy recovered a silver dirt bike from lot on the 300 block of East Lincoln Street. Put into sheriff’s office impound.
•Metro Communications in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, transferred 911 call from I-90 about a verbal domestic. Deputies transported subjects to the hospital for an evaluation.
July 16
•Complainant reported the theft of a big planter along with an angel on a pole from her grandson’s grave. It was there yesterday at noon.
•Complainant reported a guy has been driving by his house. They had issues a couple of months ago, and now the guy has been driving past his house a few times in the last couple of months. His wife just saw him drive by.
•Complainant reported a granary-type building on fire. Paged Kenneth Fire Department. Deputy requested Nobles Cooperative Electric be contacted for a downed power line.
•Complainant reported a dog jumped on her car when she was at the drive-in last night. She looked at it this morning, and there are scratches in the clear coat, and it will need to be repainted.
•Complainant in Hills reported he can’t contact his neighbors, but they are shooting off fireworks, and there is a diesel leak about 10-15 feet away. He has contacted the city about the leak, and now he would like them warned about it. Deputy parked in a lot in an adjacent block and did not hear any fireworks in the area.
•Motel reported they told a group of people they don’t have a room for them, and now they are hanging around outside and won’t seem to leave. Deputy said parties were looking for a room somewhere else. Moved along.
•Complainant reported hearing fireworks or gunshots on the south side of town. Deputy patrolled the area and did not see or hear anything.
July17
•Dispatch received severe thunderstorm warning until 2 a.m. for Rock County.
•Complainant reported a heavy-set, possibly Hispanic male who appears intoxicated wearing a white T-shirt and lighter colored shorts breaking into a window on the north side of the City Centre apartments. Man was arrested and taken to jail.
•Complainant reported he found a bike on his property this morning. Blue Kona bike with speedometer and light. Put into bike impound at Sheriff’s Office. Bike picked up by owner.
•Complainant reported the theft of a men’s dark green Huffy bike and a boys’ fluorescent green bike. Last seen last night. Men’s bike was located at Cottage Grove and Lincoln by complainant.
•Complainant reported a man came to the door with an orange, he cut a wedge out of it, and gave it to her son who ate it. They looked around Beaver Creek for the man and couldn’t find him. She was very upset about it.
•Complainant reported a light pole down and in the lane of traffic. Contacted city.
•Deputy dealt with an individual who had some mental health issues.
•Complainant reported possible domestic going on at her sister’s house. Deputy reported contact was made with both adult subjects at location, and all is OK.
•Complainant reported her soon-to-be ex-husband came into her residence while nobody was home. Also he took some items that were not agreed upon in a divorce agreement. Deputy called complainant and advised that she contact her attorney.
July 18
•Complainant reported they are getting harassing phone calls.
•Complainant reported that she has hidden cameras in her apartment and on her electric meter in the building’s utility room. Sheriff checked it out and there are no cameras in her building.
•Complainant reported theft of some items from his garage.
•Complainant reported possible sexual harassment that occurred a while ago.
•Complainant reported that there was a golf cart on the park trail, and he would like a deputy to come out and speak to the subject, as he has been told before he was not to be on the trail.
•Complainant reported that there were two white pickup trucks driving around the city soliciting for DTV Pros. She spoke with a man from one and asked to see his solicitor’s license, and he showed her a peddler’s license from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She told him that was no good here. He needed to stop and come in tomorrow to the city offices and get a license, and if he did not and there were complaints, they would be escorted out of town.
•Complainant reported they were moving their daughter and grandchild out of a house in Rock County, and they are expecting problems. Deputy went to speak with them.
July 19
•Complainant requested to speak to a deputy about a verbal agreement she made with an individual. She is wondering if she should file a report. Deputy advised this is a civil matter.
•Complainant requested to speak to someone about accompaniment ot a foreclosed property that his company has been hired to clean out. Complainant reported that there is evidence that someone may be living in it. Deputies accompanied him and found nothing there.
•Complainant reported a lost iPhone with a gold sparkly case.
•Complainant reported he lost his license plate and the chain link frame around it.
•Complainant requested a residence check for two weeks.
•Complainant reported male drivers on Barck Avenue in a silver Chevy, and it is very loud. Requested a deputy go speak to him about it, as complainant is filing a noise complaint.
•Complainant reported some illegal dumping in Hills. Deputy reported some branches and grass were dumped.
•Complainant reported her ex would not give her the kid’s clothes back after being at his house. Deputy reported the male party would not allow either the complainant or deputy in the house. No property was exchanged, and he would not return the clothing for his own children.
July 20
•Complainant reported 1-3 pedestrians walking on the interstate at eastbound mile marker 3.
•Complainant reported DTV is in town soliciting without a license. Deputy spoke to the people in the van, and they will cease activity until they get a license.
•Reserved for predatory offender registration.
•Reserved for emergency response unit callout to Windom.
•Complainant requested extra patrol on a county road that kids are tearing up, among other things.
July 21
•Complainant reported seeing lights on the north side of the house at the corner of Edgehill gravel road and South Donaldson Street. Thought it was suspicious. Deputy reports people working on a pickup.
•Complainant reported a back-up camera and a GPS were stolen from his pickup, and this morning his neighbor found them under his pickup seat.
•Complainant reported he found something by the trashcan, and he is concerned it could be drug-related.
•Complainant reported a truck all over the road. Deputy stopped vehicle at mile marker 20 and turned it over to State Patrol.
•Complainant reported that her ex-boyfriend is on probation and making lewd and threatening comments to her via text messages and Facebook. She wants to make a report so subject’s probation officer is made aware of the violations. Complainant is Spanish-speaking. Language Line was used to complete the call.
In addition, officers responded to 3 motor vehicle accidents, 1 transport, 1 parking violation, 15 traffic stops, 16 ambulance runs, 3 paper services, 2 animal complaints, 3 false alarms, 1 driver’s license check, 1 fingerprint request, 7 log/alarm sheets, 7 drug court tests, 2 money escorts, and issued 4 purchase/carry permits and 2 burn permits.
