Dispatch report
Feb. 26
•A nine-year-old reported she is afraid that something happened to her mom. Transferred call to Pipestone County. Mom and boyfriend came home and everything is OK.
•Complainant requested to speak with a deputy about some things missing from her father’s home. Father lives out of county.
•Complainant requested to speak with a deputy about a renter who was told she couldn’t have the male party at that residence.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on her friend who sounded strange on the phone. Deputy went to check and said that she was fine and her phone hadn’t rung this morning. She will call her friend.
•Complainant brought in a billfold with identification and credit cards in it that was found in Luverne.
•Complainant reported that vehicles run this route pretty much every day doing 40 mph to 50 mph on South Donaldson Street to the ice arena.
•Complainant reported that her neighbor was playing their music way too loud again and would like a deputy to come to location. It was not loud outside, so deputy advised complainant to speak with her landlord.
Feb. 27
•Complainant reported the theft of a JD riding lawn mower from Hardwick.
•Complainant reported a domestic situation. Her estranged husband has threatened to come and kick in her door.
Feb. 28
•Deputy reported an open door at a business. Notified key holder to come and check it out with the deputy. All is secure.
•Trooper brought subject to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office to pay a bond on a warrant.
•Deputy received three calls from people about a child. Father called, mother called, and a friend of mother’s called to say the child has been kidnapped and no one will do anything about it. The mother does not have a residence to live in at this time. Child will stay with father.
•Complainant reported that her mother received a phone call from Publisher’s Clearing House that mother should meet them at her bank in the morning to receive her winnings. This is a scam.
Feb. 29
•Complainant reported a semitrailer pulled over on Highway 75 at 171st  Street. It had been there for approximately one hour and was partially blocking traffic.
•Deputy reported he was out in the school zone patrolling.
•Complainant reported a vehicle not obeying the stop flag at the school crossing. Caller only got a partial plate containing the numbers 913. It was a silver Toyota.
•Complainant reported the strong odor of gas coming from somewhere in the apartment building on the 200 block of West Main Street. The Luverne Fire Department and Centerpoint Energy were paged.
March 1
•Complainant reported a stalled semi just over the state line on the curve on Highway 75. Driver has help coming from Sheldon, Iowa. Approximate time one hour. Driver requested lights so no one hits him. He does have his triangles out.
•Deputy patrolled school zone.
•Complainant reported he was on his way to Glen’s Food Center behind a maroon caravan, possibly a 90s model, where a woman kept opening the door. When they pulled into Glen’s parking lot she opened her door and was yelling, “Call the cops.” Then the van drove off headed toward Redbird Field. Complainant lost sight of them. Male had long messy hair and the female was heavier set with long brown hair. Male was arrested and taken to jail.
•Deputy arrested subject on a Department of Corrections warrant. He was taken to jail.
•Complainant reported there are some cornstalk bales on fire at 121st Street and 100th Avenue. Sheriff went to see if it was a controlled burn or not. He spoke with someone about it. It was controlled.
•Complainant was going door to door trying to sell Electrolux vacuums without a solicitor’s license. He was told to go to city hall and apply for one.
•Deputy patrolled school zone.
•Deputy reported on Dec. 24, 2015, a wicker sofa was stolen from 604 North Spring Street, which is a rental property he owns. He believes the sofa is now located at another address in Luverne.
•Reserved for predatory offender registration.
•Complainant requested to speak with a deputy about their dog getting hit and killed on the roadway near their house.
March 2
•Complainant reported she had a female that registered online for a room, but when she got there, there was no reservation. Subject left and filled her car with gas and then had no money for a room. She was going to sleep in her car. Motel requested a voucher for the lady. Deputy went to give her a voucher and she told him she didn’t need his help.
•Deputy stopped to assist a semi that was all locked up. It had blown a couple of tires. Will be getting it moved.
•Reserved for school zone patrol.
•Reserved for monthly siren testing.
•Complainant reported someone turned in a purse that was left at location. Contacted Sanford, Florida, Police Department. Woman picked up wallet.
•Complainant called to give us some information about a situation they may need help with.
•Lake Benton Police Department reported that subject is in violation of his conditions of release from jail. He was brought to Luverne to see his probation officer.

March 3
•Complainant requested assistance with a special needs student not wanting to get on the bus. Mother showed up and the child went with her.
•Complainant reported a vehicle that has been parked in their lot for a few days, and they had to plow around it. Complainant was told he could have it towed, but he said he would wait for a while.
•Complainant reported a problem with a student who took off and refused to go to school.
•Complainant reported that she needs a report for her credit card company for a fraud.
•Complainant reported she lost her phone and credit cards at location. Called the phone and she found it. She is cancelling the credit cards.
•Complainant, who is a crossing guard, reported they had a car turn on them and almost hit them. Chevy Impala. Grey with cheap car plates. She will come in and fill out a statement.
•Complainant reported he was driving past location, and someone pointed a laser right into his eyes.
•Complainant reported a fire alarm at location. Third floor elevator and hall at the Centennial Apartments. Deputy reported it’s a fire on the stove. Contacted key holder.
•Deputy warned subject for failure to dim. Both dim and bright have the same alignment. Advised to have it dealt with. Also warned for the rear placement of the license plate. It was in the window.
•Complainant requested to speak with a deputy about some family issues with her daughter.
In addition, officers responded to 3 motor vehicle accidents, 1 deer accident, 2 vehicles in ditch, 2 transports, 29 traffic stops, 19 ambulance runs, 4 paper services, 6 animal complaints, 1 false alarm, 1 driver’s license check, 7 log/alarm sheets, 3 drug court tests, 4 money escorts, and issued 22 purchase/carry permits and 23 burn permits.
