Aug. 19
•Complainant reported possible child abuse.
•Deputy reported he found a Next BMX bike, black in color, on the walking path on Blue Ridge Drive.
•Complainant reported an open door on one of his buildings. He requested that a deputy go through it with him in case someone is in there.
•Complainant reported a domestic situation, and they would like deputies present.
•Complainant reported he just had a bad break-up with his girlfriend, and he wants to report a crime. She has marijuana plants growing at her place.
•Complainant requested a letter providing information on past Law Enforcement Center contact for citizenship.
•Complainant reported that a boy had fallen off his bike and scraped his elbows. Complainant says boy was wearing flip flops, and that may have contributed to his fall. Complainant said she didn’t know if medical help was needed. Dispatch contacted boy’s father.
•Complainant reported a vulnerable adult in Rock County. Also notified Southwest Health and Human Services.
•Complainant reported subject is drunk and out of hand and would like a deputy to talk to him. Deputy spoke with subject who said he would be leaving.
•Complainant reported a noise in her garage, and her dog was barking some. All exterior doors are locked. Deputies unable to locate anything suspicious.
Aug. 20
•Complainant reported a bike stolen from location. Bike is a 26 inch Huffy, black and white in color, with no kickstand and a broken left pedal.
•Complainant reported vehicle at County Road 17 and I-90 is abandoned. Vehicle is off the roadway and is not causing a hazard.
•Complainant reported he received a call from a restricted number claiming to be with a delivery company from Worthington. Company claimed to be heading to location and needed someone to sign for a package. Complainant did not order anything. Complainant says his girlfriend is on her way to location as well. Complainant is requesting a deputy come to location, as he is concerned that something is afoot. This is a scam.
•Complainant reported finding a set of keys outside of 127 East Main Street on the sidewalk. They do not belong to anyone there.
•Complainant reported some tools were taken from a building on his property.
•Complainant requested a deputy come to location and supervise the subject in picking up a trailer.
•Complainant reported that two cell phones and some miscellaneous items were stolen from her mother’s car that was parked in the driveway on Central Lane.
•Complainant reported that subject got fired from work, and her former employer in Worthington wants the store’s keys back. Employer said that he wants the keys back by 7 a.m. or he will call the cops. Complainant was told to contact Nobles County and try to work it out with them.
•Complainant requested deputy to residence to help with a drunk person tearing his house up. Deputy advised person was gone and complainant did not want to press charges.
•Deputy arrested man for a probation violation and took him to jail.
Aug. 21
•Complainant requested a welfare check on a person who has been drinking.
•Complainant requested a welfare check on a person who has been drinking.
ªComplainant reported a car on the side of the road, approximately 1.5 miles south of Hardwick, with its hazards on. Transferred call to Patrol. Owner of the vehicle called to advise their car broke down, and they will get it moved in the morning. Patrol was advised.
•Complainant reported he got up to use the bathroom, and there is a car parked in the street that has been there a while now. Complainant thought a deputy should go out and tell them it is time to go home. Deputy checked, and it is parked legally and everything is OK.
•Complainant turned in a coin purse with bills, change and paper clips inside. Complainant advised he found it by the first flowerpot in front of Casey’s.
•Complainant came to the Law Enforcement Center and requested to talk to a deputy regarding issues of child exchange between her and her children’s dad.
•Complainant reported that his ex wife has been telling their daughter that she doesn’t have time to participate in court-ordered family time. Complainant’s daughter has not shown up to family time as a result. Complainant wanted this documented for civil purposes.
•Complainant reported a woman is acting strangely at location, and she has pockets full of merchandise. Deputy requested ambulance, as the subject seems to have over-medicated herself. Paged ambulance.
Aug. 22
•Complainant reported he is getting messages from a phone that the party has a warrant and he will get the money to pay off what is owed. Subject may have given out complainant’s phone number.
•Manager at Dollar General requested we speak to a customer who is at the store to buy iTunes gift cards because someone called him claiming to be from the IRS and told him if he didn’t buy iTunes gift cards to pay his taxes, he would be arrested. Spoke to victim and confirmed that it is a scam and to not give out personal information.
•Complainant and his kids found an item at Rez Park in Hills. They brought it to the Rock County Sheriffs Office. If no one claims it, they would like to have it.
•Complainant reported a Craigslist scam.
•Complainant reported some graffiti on signs and possibly a joint underneath a bridge in Beaver Creek.
Aug. 23
•Deputy arrested subject for DUI controlled substance.
•Complainant requested deputies to accompany her to get her stuff back from her boyfriend. Deputy reported no property exchanged tonight. Complainant left a list of what she is looking for and will try to complete the exchange tomorrow night.
•Complainant reported a missing iPhone.
•Complainant reported a vehicle blew through the stop sign near location, and driver of vehicle came into store and seemed intoxicated. Left westbound on Main Street. Vehicle had Virginia plates.
•Complainant reported a vehicle with a distracted driver in front of him on I-90 eastbound mile marker 18. Transferred to State Patrol.
•Complainant reported a racecar driving fast and doing cookies at 121st Street and 90th Avenue last night. Complainant was told to call in when it is happening.
Aug. 24
•Complainant requested to speak to State Patrol for a driving complaint on a semitrailer on I-90 around mile marker 18.
•Complainant reported she locked her keys in her vehicle.
•Complainant reported an unruly customer who may try to leave with product he hasn’t paid for.
•Complainant reported an assault took place at location. Complainant says his hand was smashed in a door, and he was held against his will by the owner and his son.
•Reserved for predatory offender registration.
•Complainant found an abandoned vehicle in a grove in Martin Township, Section 9, near the railroad tracks. Vehicle comes back as stolen from a Rock County resident. Vehicle brought back to the Law Enforcement Center by G&S Towing and owner was contacted.
•Deputy arrested man for theft of controlled substance and took him to jail.
•Complainant reported that a rider on the bus made theft claims about her boyfriend. See previous incoming call.
•Complainant reported someone suspicious sitting in the bushes at location. Caller is concerned about thefts that have occurred in the area. Deputy advised the subject was not in the bushes. He was sitting on the sidewalk playing Pokémon GO.
Aug. 25
•Complainant reported a male went into the Episcopal Church. Complainant thought she should report it since there is not usually someone there. Deputies advised that the individual is a maintenance man for location. All is OK.
•Complainant reported subject was in her office to report that her boyfriend stole her meds, and she wanted a report sent to the medical center.
•Complainant reported mother doesn’t put her child in a car seat when driving down the road, among other issues.
•Complainant reported neglect and abuse to children in a family.
•Complainant reported a wire exposed from the ground in the alley on the 500 block of North Spring Street. City of Luverne on call electrician was notified and said it is a coax cable that carries no voltage. He will contact appropriate party to fix it in the morning.
•Complainant reported a child walking on Highway 23 at mile marker 5. State Patrol located child’s parents.
•Deputy arrested man for DWI and took him to jail.
In addition, officers responded to 2 motor vehicle accidents, 3 funeral escorts, 15 traffic stops, 19 ambulance runs, 2 paper services, 6 animal complaints, 1 false alarm, 1 driver’s license check, 3 false 911 calls, 3 fingerprint requests, 7 log/alarm sheets, 8 drug court tests, and issued 5 purchase/carry permits and 5 burn permits.
